Dear Reader,
Welcome, South Somerset IVC is a non-commercial social club based in the Yeovil, Ilminster, Chard, South Petherton, Wincanton, Taunton and Sherborne areas with activities are arranged by our members. This allows us to enjoy a wide range of exciting social, sports and leisure activities. All these activities are published in a weekly programme distributed by email at the start of each week.
IVC (Inter Varsity Club) was originally started in 1946 by two undergraduates in order to further their social life during the long summer vacation.
Since then the club has expanded and now has over 5,000 members in nearly 50 clubs spread thoughout England Scotland and Wales.
South Somerset IVC (formerly Yeovil IVC) was formed in the early 1980s and is a social club aimed at
single and married Graduates, Professionals and those with similar interests in the 20’s to 50’s age range.
However the most important qualifications are a willingness to get involved, the ability to mix with other active people and make new friends
South Somerset IVC has no political, racial or religious affiliations.
